Event DJ

Onward Upward Sports and Events books DJs for weddings, private parties, and social events across Chester County and Greater Philadelphia. We handle the client and the booking. You bring the sound.

We are building a vetted DJ roster and routing paid event work to it as bookings land. This is per-event contract work, not a salaried role.

What the work looks like:

- Per-event bookings, typically 3 to 4 hours

- You supply your own equipment

- Genres range from wedding Pop and Rock to party Hip-hop, R&B, and Top 40

- Paid per event on a 1099 basis

What we look for:

- Reliable mobile DJ with your own gear

- Comfortable reading a room and handling light MC duties

- Own liability insurance and a W-9 on file

- Weekend and select weeknight availability

Independent contractor terms:

- This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not employment, and it is non-exclusive in both directions

- You set your own schedule, methods, and equipment, and remain free to take other clients and operate your own business

- You set your rate per event, so there is real opportunity for profit and loss

- There is no obligation to accept any booking and no guaranteed volume

- No employee benefits, no paid time off, no workers' compensation coverage, no unemployment coverage

- You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses

- Either party may end the engagement on written notice

- Roster DJs complete a W-9 and sign an independent contractor agreement before being routed paid work

We contract with DJs on merit and fit for the work.
